Yeah, i totally agree with you. I would definitely think of going strigoi if i had a choice between death and turning. i really don't think it'd be that bad... eternity with dimitri sounds pretty appealing to me

If I have to be completely honest, I think I would choose immortality with the man I loved rather than dying. Even if the immortality came with several things attached.

It would depend on the situation for me. If I knew what I was going to become by choosing immortality I probably wouldn't want it. To lose what makes you you wouldn't exactly be fun. Though you'd lose yourself entirely if you died at least you'd know you left the world as yourself, and didn't linger in a space between life and death for the rest of eternity. Never to see the light again, never to feel 'human'

I disagree with you Aurora_Lumi, I do think you lose yourself and your soul. Dimitri may have kept his memories and the majority of his appearance, and may have managed to display similar emotions to his old life, but by changing the way he thinks he changed himself.

That being said I have no idea which option I'd choose and under the sort of circumstances Rose faced I'd probably be more likely to fold early on and pick immortality. Fear makes you do surprising things in life.

i agree with magicsecret i tink i would choose immortaily to be with the one i loved....but idk if it meet being a STRIGOI i dont know it owuld have to depend on the situation...and yeah i agree i dont think strigoi have there souls i think that they loose them..and there just dangerous.

I would have chosen to die rather then become a strigoi. I wouldn't want to be around in the world and be able to hear about Lissa and the acadmy and everyone there but not be able to see her again. I know Rose loves Dimka a lot but i don't think she could have stayed around on the same planet as Lissa and not be able to see her. Their bond was still strong...

I totally would turn sigroi to be with Dimitri. I believe Rose and Dimitri are soul mates sort of speak. When you find that you do what you have to to hold on to that. Me I probably wouldnt have left that palace she was in with Dimitri. I dont think I could kill him. We'll see what happens. But man May is so far away.

I would say turn Strigoi but, then she would be risking Lissa's life. From reading the books, Rose would never want to do that to Lissa even, during a fight. If Rose didn't have such a strong friendship and the bond then I'd think she'd turn Strigoi to be with Dimitri.

Rose turning Strigoi sounds like a twisted version of Twilight (and I strongly disapproved of Bella turning vampire, it was the ultimate cowardice) but this woulda been much worse. At least Bella was stupid, I didn't expect more of her, and she also didn't turn back on her beliefs and willingly choose to be a killer. Rose turning Strigoi would have meant just that. While Dimitri didn't have a conscience anymore and was okay with killing people, Rose still had hers and she couldn't have coped with such things, it wasn't in her nature. It's not a matter of simply choosing between death and immortality with the man you love, it sounds all easy and peachy if you word it like that. It's giving up everything that makes you yourself together with embracing everything that you've ever fought against. And for what? A lie, a sad illusion of happiness. Dimitri wasn't Dimitri. He did love her but he was still a monster in many many ways. He wasn't that wise, noble, kind man that she fell in love with, not anymore. Or not yet.

So I would have never agreed to become a Strigoi. But I couldn't live without him either so, in lack of a solution, death wouldn't sound so bad, I guess. Although it would be a selfish death since, if I were in Rose's place, Lissa and the others would still need me so much.

To be honest, I don't think Strigoi are as bad as everyone makes out. Their lifestyle choice of how they eat etc etc. Christian lived with his parents for a long time before leaving. We have seen through Dimitri that he is still in some ways himself to an extent. I'm hopefull though, what can i say.

I'd rather be Strigoi than die without Dimitri. Not that I dislike Lissa, but Rose needs to put herself ahead of Lissa sometimes. Do something for herself.

I don't think I'd become a Strigoi. Honestly, the entire time she was with Dimitri, I was angry. I wanted her to hurry up and get out of there, and then save Lissa, and learn of a new way to save Dimitri. I love Dimitri and Rose together, and I was so happy when he wasn't killed. I had a huge crying fit at the end of Shadow Kiss, as sad as it is, and I just got angry as Rose began to fall for his tricks. I don't believe he truly loved her as a Strigoi, and I keep thinking about what will happen when he is saved (I have a feeling she won't kill him off) I wonder... How awkward will that be for them? 'Hey, sorry I did all that to you and you know, completely tore your heart apart in my attempt to turn you into one of the eternal damned. It's nothing personal, just evil crap, you know? But, hey, I'm a dhampir again, and we can go on like before. If we're lucky, maybe Tatiana will get kicked off the throne and Lissa can replace her, right?
