She was wierd from the start

Any thoughts on:
How neither lissa or adrian saw her golden aura

How she was so strong in compulsion

and any others i can't think of at this moment

I know she was so strong, so I can't really blame Lissa and Adrian for not seeing her aura too well, but it seems a bit ridiculous that neither of them picked up on it.
Lissa even looked at Avery's aura at the beginning and there was gold in it. No-one but a Spirit user has gold in their aura.

I've been wondering though, whether he father (and I can't remember his name: Mr.Lazar I guess) was a part of it all? I guess he could have been under the influence of compulsion too, so that would explain why he brought Avery with him to the Academy, but if he was so innocent why did he flee?

I didn't like avery from the start i kinda figured she was a spirit user from when rose started to get kicked out of lissa's head...and her with adrain seemed like he was to much into rose to be with avery..

i didn't like her too. especially when Adrian always hang out with her
but at least, her appreance make Rose little bit jealous ;D

something about Avery creeped me out from the start. But i can honestly say i didnt suspect she was spirit users at all. BUt in hindsight i guess hints were dropped but still i dont blame Lissa and Adrian not picking up on it either. After all, spirit is supposed to be rare and what reasons did they really have to suspect she would lie about being an air user. Plus 95% of the time they were drinking which hinders their abilities.

I think she was so powerful because she bonded to two people. SHE didnt suffer from the spirit side affects like Lissa and Adrian do. Granted Lissa and Rose share the effects.. but as Lissa gained control of her power- Rose took on most if not all of the bad effects. I think Avery was just getting more powerful and powerful while her bond-mates were getting more and more crazy. Plus, i think she was so good at compulsion because she practiced and used it often. Lissa does occasionally but when she HAS too.. i don't think Adrian even uses it much at all.

I agree on most parts except where Lissa's not as powerful in compulsion. She did that crazy psycho-super complusion on Jesse without breaking a sweat...her only trouble was letting go. Perhaps that's doesn't prove her strength, is she can't control it that way, but if Avery was as strong or stronger she would have been able to make Lissa jump even with Rose trying to stop her.

With her specialty Avery could be a compulsion specialist whereas Lissa's more focused on healing.

Not sure if this was said in this thread or another one but it seems Spirit manifests differently in each spirit users.

I think they all can do the basics and have really strong abilities in that but are especially gifted in one aspect. I think Lissa's specialty is Healing. Adrian is dream walking. Ah i can't remember how to spell her name the lady married to Mark... i think her's is mind reading. And Avery's was compulsion. They all can be really power in all but they have that one ability that just exceeds the others.

i liked avery she was like a more un-controled roza with a bad attude...
and of course if avery would have self-control she would have been cool

well roza can be pretty evil lol if ya know wat i mean-wiggles eyebrows-
but lol anywho avery was just drunk on her on powers...

adrain seems like he could get that way as well...

I actually don't think Adrian could get that way. I agree that Lissa could, but Adrian doesn't have the same desire to learn more talents/explore as much as Lissa. He wants to know the full extent of his powers, but he's sort of content to let them come to him. I mean, I know in Shadow Kiss he was really determined to learn to heal, but Lissa was going half crazy at not being able to learn. Adrian was calmer about it all, so I don't think he'd ever be controlled by spirit the way Lissa and Avery are sometimes.
