Ibrahim (Abe) Mazur

What did everyone think of him? Do you think he'll return?

I kind of like that we've slowly been given more information about him over all the books.
VA: We knew he was Turkish
FB: Found out about the Nazar he'd given Janine.
SK: Found out a name (Ibrahim)
BP: Finally met him.

I thought he was pretty awesome. Mysterious and definitely gives off a scary vibe, but at the same time he was sort of gentle, at least to Rose.
I think he'll be returning over the rest of the series.

Also, who else has a feeling Tatiana was in love with him and became seriously jealous when he picked Janine over her?

Of course we'll see him again. I don't know under what circumstances, but I'm certain we'll be seeing him. There's still too much we don't know about Rose's family. Personally, I'd love to know why he and Janine didn't stay together. She still seems to care about him.

I also really want to know why Dimitri doesn't like Abe, since he told Rose to stay away from him. I want to know what Dimitri will think once he finds out that Abe is really Rose's father.

I don't know about Tatiana being jealous of Janine, because I thought Tatiana was much older? scratch

And I don't think Abe is royal, is he? Would Tatiana bother with a non-royal? Could be jealousy I guess, but I don't really think we know enough about Tatiana or Abe to know for sure.

Either way, I hope we see more Rose/Abe interaction!! Can you imagine? They're so alike. What kind of crazy stuff will they argue about you think? Razz

I think Dimitri knew Abe was her father and that's why Dimitri didn't want her around him sure he was a Strigoi when he said it but Abe would be a bad influence on Rose since he's not exactly the "good" guy...OH or maybe Abe did something in Baia when Dimitri was young since everyone in Baia knew him

When I was reading BP it didn't click that Abe was obviously Rose's dad. So when Dimitri said to stay away from him my first thought was that Abe was Dimitri's father. But I seem to recall Dimitri saying after he fought him, his father never came back.

I don't think Dimitri knew Abe was Rose's father, though he might have. But I think Abe just had a pretty big reputation as someone not to mess with.

I've told you this before I think, but I hope to GOD that Richelle doesn't pull something like that!! Can you imagine?? If Abe was Dimitri's father too? Shocked

I think that would really kill the series for me.

As it is though, I don't think they're related. Partly because Dimitri's family only seemed to *know of* Abe, and not know him personally. And Dimitri has said before that his father *liked* his mother and used to beat her. Do you really think Abe would do that? I don't. So, I think maybe Dimitri was probably just warning Rose because Abe has a reputation. For what? I don't know. But not a good one. Or, at least, not a good one according to non-Dimitri.

Yeah, I totally see that he couldn't be Dimitri's father now, but it was a thought at first. Abe seems tough, but he's also pretty caring and that's definitely not what Dimitri's dad was.

At first I thought Abe was sent by Rose's parents to find her, but then I realized. Abe *is* Ibrahim. It seemed pretty obvious at that point. Razz

Of course, I didn't realize immediately, but I did figure it out way before it was revealed in the end.

I feel kind of stupid for not working it out for myself, but at the same time it made it all the more dramatic because I didn't expect it to happen Razz

I certainly was clueless and didn't pick up on that! But aftewards when it is spelled out for us i literally smacked myself at how obvious it was with the whole name thing lol.

At least you're still able to be surprised!! There are some people that can't enjoy it anymore once they've figured it out. But it was also pretty funny what Rose said once she realized that Abe was her father. It was one of my favorite parts in the book.

I realized Abe was Ibrahim when he told Rose that she needed to go back to school. I remember wondering why he would tell her to go back to school if he just wanted her gone. And also, he never acted on any of his threats. At that point, when he was trading his assistance with the Viktoria blood-whore issue for Rose's word that she'd leave, it kind of seemed like he was pleading with her to go home.

I really liked how Abe was so caring when Rose was at the airport and he gave her his scarf. Do you think maybe he might have known that Janine would be at the Academy and was sending her some kind of message? Like letting her know that he's still around? Or was it just kindness on his part?

I think it could have been both. I reckon Janine and Abe still have a fair amount of contact with each other, so I don't know why the scraf would be the other message he'd want to send to her. I mean, Janine told him to keep a look-out for Rose while she was in Russia, so they had to have a better way to communicate with each other than a few items of clothing.
But my opinion of it is that He was doing it because he cared, and perhaps he didn't think anyone would notice it was his and he just wanted to leave Rose with something that connected them together. Maybe he didn't think Janine would be there or that she would remember his clothes all that well.

I want to re-read the whole series so badly but my brother's wife has VA and my sister's boss has Frostbite and Shadow Kiss and my sister has Blood Promise :O
