| I was wondering how many of you have read some of the other young adult vampire series? (twilight, vampire diaries, the house of night...) And what you think of them compared to VA...
I've read them all and my feelings are...
1. Twilight- eh. I liked it the first time I read it but I have to agree with some of the things I've read on the boards. It's very repetitive and waaaay to descriptive. Good lord, really, who cares about the moss on the trees???
2. Vampire Diaries- Not a fan. Those books just got really really weird for me. I haven't read the newest one, has anyone else? thoughts?
3. House of Night- Interesting. I like it. Can't wait to see what happens in the next one.
4. Vampire Academy- In LUVLUVLUV. Period.
Anyone else??? |

VD: I'm not into it.
HoN : I didn't even finish the first book , too boring and child-ish in my opinion .
VA : I love Adrian , Christian and Strigoi Dimka , hate Rose and Lisa |

| Twilight-I owe my love for reading to this series. If it wasn't for the movie and curiosity getting the best of me and buying NM, Eclipse, and BD, I wouldn't be where I am today. I lvoed the books at first. Don't get em wrong I still honestly like them but compared to other books its by far not my fav but I'm still a big fan.
TVD-haven't read but I LOVE the show
HON-Love it. The first half of the first book is boring but after that it gets good. I can't wait for Awakened to come out.
VA-My absolutely fav series. None of the other vamp books can compare.
I haven't read any of the other popular vampire books like Sookie Stackhouse, Morganville Vampires, Vampire Kisses, etc but I want to, they are on my TBR list-if I ever find the time to read them with all the other series I'm keeping up with.

My aunt watches the show, she says it's amazing... From what I can tell (from what she says and what I've read) it's not sticking too much to the story lines of the book. Which is probably a good thing...

Do you really hate Rose? She's not the best lead character but almost always they're flawed.
Feel the same about the others. Used to like twilight too but don't anymore. Prolly see Breaking Dawn though.
Vamp Diaries - only like the tv show and by that I mean Damen.
I don't think I made it past p 30 of HoN. Read the summaries on wiki. No where near as good as VA. |

Vampire Academy-I can somehow stand Rose and Company and whatever allies they wind up getting, but beyond that, can we have two things?
One, a lead main villain or two that we're supposed to rage/hate/orchestrate against, like a Strigoi ancient that can't be turned back by a stake?
Two, i don't even need to repeat instances of badassery on the parts of the Olympians or the gods of Scandinavian Lore, so instead i'll just get to the chase and ask this, When in Tartarus' names will the general Royal Court Grow groins before they start getting castrated? |
