Hmmm, richelle hasn't posted this info, but Penguin Paranormal FB posted the link so I'm assuming it's true.

The first book in the VA spinoff series is called Bloodlines and will be out August 2011. They can't tell us who it's about cause it'll give too much of LS away.

Thoughts? Any ideas to who the first book is about?

I assumed it would be about Sydney being that she's the only one we know about but I doubt it's her from the title of it. I could be wrong but thats just my guess.

The other guess is that it'll be about Lissa's sibling, because they'll find out about their heritage, etc.

Penguin Australia also updated thier forum page. The spin off thread now says "bloodlines" too.

I'm happy that its coming out next year and its not going to be a huge wait.

Err... don't forget that the spin off is going to be in 3rd person pov and will have more than one character's perspective.

I think that this book will be about Jill or Sydney. Of course I don't think it's really Sydney anymore judging from the title but it could refer to the bloodline of the Alchemists. Richelle Mead said that the Main Character would be someone we already knew so if it goes back to St Vlad's then it could most likely be Jill since she is the only character we know that still attends St. Vlad's. It could also be about Adrian, but I doubt that. So we'll just have to wait and see... it's only like eight months away, of course that's what I said when I finished Spirit Bound and began waiting for Last Sacrifice...

Like dimkaluv said, the spin-off series is going to be told in the third person and will feature more than just one character's perspective. That gives me the impression that there won't just be one sole main character like with the original series. Richelle already confirmed Sydney as a main character. Lissa's half-sibling will most likely be another main character. Even if Jill is not Lissa's half-sibling she will definitely be a main character too.

You guys are good. Super fast with the news! I just was on face book and say RM status about bloodlines. I love the title. I also agree, it's not a HUGE wait so that's even better.

I was actually surprised to see it coming out so soon. Specially considering the last Georgina book is scheduled to be released next fall. But I really glad we don't have to wait until 2012 like I figured. I'm getting really excited for Bloodlines. It's awesome to finally put a name to it instead fo just VA spin off lol

Bloodlines - makes me think about lineage - which makes me think about Lissa's half sibling out there.

As sad as i am about Vampire Academy ending, i glad shes not cutting us off completely...Bloodlines is def going to be awsome, with Jill Sydney and possibly Adrian there is sure to be more greatness to come... but set in a human California High school?? kinda has me wondering... come one August!!
